News: Official Pictures From Ridley Scott’s Prometheus

I’ve been meaning to write about Prometheus for AGES. We’ve had crappy low-quality trailers leaked, a fake synopsis bandied around, but nothing really concrete I could show you guys. Until now! 20th Century Fox has released some promotional shots from the movie. Let’s totes have a look.

Everyone keeps circling around the subject – Is Prometheus an Alien prequel or not? I say let’s cut the crap. We know it’s a prequel, and now we know it’s a prequel we can begin speculating on how this fits in the Alien universe. Above, we have Logan Marshall-Green, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘s Noomi Rapace, and Michael Fassbender from X-Men: First Class exploring ancient ruins on a distant planet.

BIG GIANT HEAD. I mean, you could look at the familiar suited characters walking amongst the eerily similar objects from that other Ridley Scott movie we’ve previously mentioned, or you could just check out the BIG GIANT HEAD. BIG GIANT HEAD.

On board the good ship Prometheus. It’s a hell of a cast Scott has put together, here are Oscar winner Charlize Theron, and The Wire‘s Idris Elba. Again, looking at the bridge, there is an overwhelming sense of familiarity. We’ve definitely seen something like this before.

Oh God. Is that what I think it is? Noomi, my beloved, get out of there NOW. Do not look into the egg. PLEASE.

We’ve suffered through some awful Sci-Fi movies as of late, so it’s great to have Ridley back in the fold. Yeah, it’s annoying that it’s not stand-alone and original like Alien and Blade Runner, but I’ll take what I can at the moment. I can’t wait.

Prometheus is due to be released here in the UK on the 1st June 2012.

  1. SciFi movies have been horribly bad lately so it is good that I have this to look forward to as well. Alien was such a great flick. Still my favorite!
