News: Spoilery On-Set Star Trek Pics
J.J. Abrams is currently hard at work filming the new Star Trek feature. We’ve had a few leaks but the film has pretty much been on lockdown ever since. Until now. Yep, some sneaky so and so has managed to take some shots of Zachary Quinto’s Spock in a perilous position. Obviously these pics could be a bit of a spoiler, so if you don’t want to ruin it for yourself LOOK AWAY NOW.
*SPOILER WARNING*
There we go. Zachary Quinto’s Spock rocking a fancy suit. It’s not a spacesuit before you jump to conclusions…
… Nope, this is a volcano suit. You heard. A VOLCANO suit. Spock is taking extreme sports to a whole new level.
Here’s Quinto with his stunt double. They could be twins…
… and here they are joined by the crew. What’s with the grey jackets?
Anyway, back to that suit. The description from the set said “After first rehearsing the scene with a Spock’s stunt double actor, Zachary Quinto was then rigged to a wire in front of a large green screen and lifted to a height of 10 stories high then dropped at a high rate of speed as if he was falling…”
They continued “… In the scene Spock is wearing a “Volcano Suit” and carrying an unknown piece of equipment with the Starfleet emblem. A volcano is somehow involved in this scene. The crew had a real fire burning off camera to catch the fire reflections on Spock’s “Volcano Suit”.
So, the first Star Trek had red matter, and this one has volcano diving. It’s cool they’ve dumped the obsession with science fact of the TNG/DS9/Voyager series for exciting nonsense. Let us know what you think of the pics and Abrams flick down below.
Star Trek 2, or whatever it’s going to be called, hits screens on the 17th May 2013.
