News: The Dark Knight Rises TV Spots And New Pictures

The final part to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is fast approaching. In less than two months we will find out what happens to Bruce Wayne and the Batman. In the meantime we have some new pics and a couple of great new TV spots to make the wait a little more bearable. Let’s take a look.

First up are seven new pics via Here’s a good look at Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman…

… and here she is again. It seems that Selina Kyle has replaced the classic whip with a handgun. We know Batman isn’t the biggest fan of guns so I wonder how this will affect their relationship.

John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has something in his hand. What is that? Any ideas, let us know below and we’ll update the blog accordingly.

Bane, this time without the jacket, looking like he’s ready to kick some ass.

Director Christopher Nolan chats with Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale on the set of the film.

Though this is the final time Chris Nolan will be behind the camera of a Batman film, it may not be his last time helping shape the world of the Dark Knight. It is said that Warner Bros. want him to stay on in a producer/executive producer capacity for any future Bat-features.

Next up are some exclusive pictures courtesy of Empire magazine. Here’s the first of two The Dark Knight Rises covers – Batman (Christian Bale)…

… the other is Catwoman. Buy either of these issues and you get a giant poster of the cover too.

Anne Hathaway is pretty, there’s no denying that, but does she have the required sultriness to play Catwoman? We’ll have to wait and see.

This is a very interesting shot. Is this evidence of the Cat betraying the Bat? We know this walkway is where Batman faces Bane (for the first time?). More evidence for Catwoman ambiguous moral nature?

Batman back on the Batpod.

And finally, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) chats to Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard). The rarity of pics of Cotillard has me thinking she may play a very big part in events in the film.

Here’s the first TV spot, aired in the US during American Idol. It’s more Bruce/Batman-centric. In case you can’t understand Bane he says “Gotham, this is your liberation”. All the other dialogue points to Bruce not being the Batman for a long time.

This one features more of Catwoman. Nice little nod to her thieving ways when she take’s Bruce’s car.

So, that’s all we’ve got. Let us know what you think of everything below.

The Dark Knight Rises is released worldwide on the 20th July.
