As for now we’ll just have to make do with a description of the action that went down. Continue reading

Last month saw the first trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, his first film in five years. It featured a magnetic Joaquin Phoenix, also on a return of sorts, as Freddie, a confused and drunken drifter. A month on and we are lucky to have our second trailer, this time focussing on The Master himself, Philip Seymour Hoffman. Continue reading

News: Trailer For Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master

Posted in Movies, Trailer with tags , , , , , , , on May 22, 2012 by Bjorn Grainger

Depending on your perspective, Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the finest or most self-indulgent writer/directors of his generation. Personally I go for the former, which is why I’m so excited to show you the first trailer for his latest feature – The Master. This is Anderson’s first film since the amazing There Will Be Blood in 2007, and charts the rise a cult-like religion across the United States in the fifties. Things have been a little quiet on the Man Of Steel front lately. This is what happens when films go into their lengthy post-production phase. Luckily for us, though, a recent effects sizzle reel was shown to folk at a VFX industry event. This sizzle reel just so happened to contain some footage from Zack Snyder’s new Superman movie. Sadly there was no leak of the actual footage, but we’ve got the next best thing – a description of the action from a pretty reliable source. Wanna read all about it? Then join us after the jump. News: Henry Cavill Gets All Beardy On Man Of Steel Set

Posted in Comics, Movies, News, Thoughts with tags , , , , , , , , , on October 6, 2011 by Bjorn Grainger

Looks to me like ol’ Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) is mixing it up with some down and outs to truly know what it’s like to be human. You know, alien superbeing understands us through our poorest and most put upon. It’s a lesson or something.

Or is he undercover for a story for The Daily Planet? Continue reading

News: Disney Releases A Ton Of New Muppets Pics.

Posted in Movies, News with tags , , , , , , , , on September 13, 2011 by Bjorn Grainger

We in the UK are stuck waiting until February 10th 2012 before we get to see The Muppets. Not so for those folk over in the States. Oh no, they get to head the nearest multiplex and view their colourful antics from November. Bastards. In the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with the crapload of pics Disney has just released of the forthcoming feature.

Shallow? Yes. Sexist? Possibly. A flimsy excuse to cover The Shootening in Hollywood’s loveliest ladies? You betcha!

10. Rosario Dawson.

Ah, Rosario. You’re lovely. It’s the smile, I think. Definitely the smile. Did you know her début was in 1995’s controversial Kids, along side indie favourite Chloë Sevigny? No, neither did I ’til I read her wiki page. Anyway, why is she number ten in my list? Hers isn’t the most glittering of filmographies. Well, she qualifies through the gorgeous to look at but empty and vacuous Sin City, and I freaking loved her turn in Grindhouse: Death Proof. Mostly, though, because I want her to be cast as Wonder Woman. It’s the smile…
