Sony’s version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo didn’t exactly set cinema screens alight with its box office performance earlier in the year. It did enough, $232 million in global box office, to have people working on the follow-up The Girl Who Played With Fire (writer Steven Zallian is busy typing away) but Sony seem in no rush to get it made.

News: The Girl With Dragon Tattoo DVD is AWESOME. Also Possible News On Sequels

Fincher has nearly always taken the same care with his DVD covers/artwork as he has with his films. His Fight Club brown paper package will always be a favourite of mine, as is the creepy letter cover to Zodiac. These things, I feel, add immeasurably to the film experience and I’m glad that Fincher dares to give attention to such things. Continue reading

Review: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Okay, I’m gonna come right out and say it – I don’t have a lot of love for the Mission Impossible series. If it’s action-packed espionage spy thrillery stuff I want, then I’ll watch the Bourne trilogy. I don’t think I’ve seen the first M.I. film since I rented it on VIDEO. Mission Impossible 2 soiled my eyes and mind with its awfulness. Heck, I haven’t even bothered catching up with Mission Impossible 3. So, why the heck am I reviewing Ghost Protocol? Because I love you, that’s why. Continue reading

Is the investment of a major Hollywood studio and the level of talent that brings enough to justify its existence?

News: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Viral Marketing Leaves Us With More Questions Than Answers

Posted in Movies, News, Thoughts with tags , , , , , , on October 21, 2011 by Bjorn Grainger

I’m loving The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘s marketing campaign. It feels like they’re trying to draw us into Lisbeth Salander’s/Mikael Blomkvist’s investigative minds. Today, Mouth-Taped-Shut (that production blog I’ve mentioned like, a million times) uploaded a YouTube video of the car crash footage, which is a critical element to The Girl‘s story. Check it out.

Okay, nothing special there, you may think… Continue reading

It’s all building up rather nicely, isn’t it? We’ve had the three minute trailer, Empire’s exclusive on-set look, and now we have these stunning pics.

Rooney Mara lying on some very white sand. I am good at describing things. Continue reading
